Why choose WordPress?
Alright, let me just come right out with it… If you don’t already have a WordPress website, it’s time to switch over. When I first stumbled upon WordPress, I foolishly dismissed it, thinking that I was quite limited to their design. Reality was, I just didn’t take the time to get to know WordPress. Once you get the feel for it you will quickly realize how powerful WordPress can be. It’s the most popular CMS (Content Management System) out there, powering 29% of all websites on the internet, according to a recent survey. It is all powerful right out of the box, but if your looking for more than what’s offered, customize your site with a different plugin or theme. There is a plugin for everything, from e-commerce to help with your SEO. Speaking of SEO, did I mention that Google prefers websites powered by WordPress? Google’s own Matt Cutts endorsed WordPress at WordCamp San Francisco 2009, mentioning how easy its framework is to “crawl”.
WordPress is designed for the everyday user, so that any average person with a little time on their hands can build their very own powerful, mobile responsive website or blog. For small businesses, large companies, or your everyday blogger, anyone can do it. That being said, a little PHP and MySQL knowledge goes a long way with customizing your website. Maybe hiring someone to build your website would be a good idea if your not an avid computer user, but once its built you don’t need to continue paying a developer or designer to make little changes or make a blog post. It’s a fairly simple user-interface that even non-computer experts can manage. Not interested at all in maintaining even a WordPress site? WordPress is still the go to option for anyone who wants a website. One can trust that their website will be elegant and functional, no matter who builds your site for you.
I could go on and on about all the features of WordPress that makes it the top dog, because it certainly is, but do you really want to listen to me jabber on about it? If you currently have a website or are looking to create a new website, I highly recommend you take the time to see what it is exactly. Take to the good ole’ Google and do some research, you’ll find that you can’t go wrong with WordPress.
